SECTION 3 HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW Hazardous in case of ingestion. Slightly hazardous in case of skin contact (irritant, permeator), of eye contact (irritating), of inhalation. EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE - EYE CONTACT: May cause irritation, pain, eye damage. EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE - SKIN CONTACT: Minor skin irritation and penetration may occur. EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE - INHALATION: Headaches, dizziness, nausea, decreased blood pressure, changes in heart rate and cyanosis may result from over-
exposure to vapor or skin exposure. Prolonged inhalation may be harmful. EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE - INGESTION: This product is not expected to be toxic by ingestion. Overexposure of the butyl glycolate may cause vomiting, headache, appetite losing, inflammation of the throat, stomach and oesophagus. EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE - CHRONIC HAZARDS: Overexposure may cause nervous system damage. Overexposure may cause aspiratory assimilation irritate. Overexposure may cause assimilation irritate. Aggravation of Pre-existing Conditions: Persons with pre-existing skin disorders, eye problems, or impaired liver, kidney, or respiratory function may be more susceptible to the effects of ethylene alcohol.
SECTION 4 FIRST AID MEASURES
FIRST AID - EYE CONTACT: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water. Get medical attention, if irritation persists. FIRST AID - SKIN CONTACT: Not expected to acutely irritate to skin. FIRST AID - INHALATION: Not expected to be acutely toxic by inhalation. FIRST AID - INGESTION: Not expected to be acutely toxic by inhalation. Ingestion from an aerosol product is unlikely to occur. Contains petroleum distillates. Harmful if swallowed.

SECTION 6 ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Stop all leaks. Isolate hazard area. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel from entering. Absorb spill with inert material (e.g. dry sand, earth). Eliminate all ignition sources. Prevent runoff from entering drains, sewers, streams or other bodies of water. Absorb unrecoverable product. Transfer contaminated absorbent, soil and other materials to containers for disposal.
SECTION 7 HANDLING AND STORAGE
Do not use or store near heat, sparks or open flame. Do not puncture or incinerate container. Store in a cool, dry place. Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling may be harmful or fatal. Keep out of reach of children.
SECTION 8 EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
Engineering Controls: Provide exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep the airborne concentrations of vapors below their respective threshold limit value. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are proximal to the work-station location. Eye Protection: Wear safety glasses or goggles. Skin Protection: To prevent repeated or prolonged contact, wear impervious gloves (Made of rubber, nitrile or neoprene). Respiratory Protection: For most conditions, no respiratory protection should be needed. However, if material is heated or sprayed and if atmospheric levels exceed exposure guidelines, use an approved vapor (air purifying) respirator.

Toxicity: low Toxicological Data on Ingredients: butyl glycolate: Acute Exposure Oral LD50: 4240-4825 mg/kg (rats); slightly toxic to animals by ingestion. Skin: May be irritating to skin depending on the concentration and duration.
Eye: Severely irritating to rabbit eyes. Mutagenicity: Not mutagenic in most in vitro studies.

Ecotoxicity butyl glycolate Ecotoxicity: Butyl glycolate exhibits slight acute toxicity to aquatic species. Fish (Leuciscus idus) 48-hr. SG = 50 ppm. Crustacean (Daphnia magna) 24-hr. EC50 = 280 ppm. Bacteria (Pseudomonas putida), 18-hr. EC50 = 2320 ppm. Environmental Fate: Degradation: Biodegradation was greater than 90% after 5 days in the Modified Zahn Wellens Test (OECD 302B). For atmospheric photochemical degradation, the estimated half-life was 2.5-3.6 days. Bioaccumulation: The calculated value of the log of the n-octanol/water partition coefficient (log Kow) is 1.057. This indicates low potential for bioaccumulation.
